Words of Wisdom

I’ve always found inspiration and guidance in the words of others. I carry around a small notebook in my pocket pretty much at all times so I can keep these words with me at all times.

“Consider your origins: you were not made that you might live as brutes, but so as to follow virtue and knowledge.” Dante Aligheri

“A large part in virtue consists in good values.” William Paley

“Man can only be man to those who walk on the earth beside him.” Gerald Brennan

“It matters not what road we take but rather what we become on the journey.” Fortune Cookie

“To enjoy the crowd is an art.” Charles Baudelaire

“A man has to be ready to go at any moment.” Mad Men

“Independence is the only gauge of human virtue and value.” Ayn Rand

“Life is how it is, not how it was.” Conor Oberst

“Art is a harmony parallel to nature.” Cezanne

“As for the future, your task is not to foresee it but to enable it.” Antoine de Saint Exupéry

If you want to build a ship, don’t herd people together to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea. Antoine De Saint-Exupéry

“To gain freedom is to gain simplicity” Joan Miró
